If you are getting rid of the front fender molding I could use the driver's side.

Anything can be repaired!.. I love the California GS its a rare car and only 1,571 were produced! my GS400 had 10,659 made this is the reason I feel to maintain the originality of your car and build around that beauty by putting your money into upgrading the braking, steering suspension and a big roaring 455 Buick block!! So if the time you ever want to sell the car you can dial down to the original look and sell off the adds ons and come out ahead ...

I think that pic of your white GS looks really nice! I would prefer five spokes for the wheels. I like the look of the car with or without the wheel well chrome!

I think I'll put all the stuff back on, I did all the work so it's not really costing me anything. The guy I bought it off had it sitting under a tree and didnt do anything to it, his son said that it wasnt a real california gs and that some had added that stuff. I tryed decoding my vin and did so a lil bit maybe you can do it for me. 43307 77107302.
The 33 represent's a v6 that's where I got confused. My pink slip on say's buick skylark. Can that dudes son be right...?

Thats the confusion 33!! The purpose of the California GS was to build mid priced performance car.. They used a post V6 buick special body with a 340ci engine.. So when you look at the engine vin # it should match the v6 body vin then you know its a California GS!!.. For what I understand it was to trick the insurance co's to think its a v6 car so you would get a lower insurance price.. hence the "High performance and Buick quality at "Economy car" price..

Where can the engine vin be found...? You know your stuff. I wish I would have did more research on the car befor I did the mod's but all is good and it can be put back together.

You have found one of the tricky areas of Buick's.
The tough ones that I know are 65 Gran Sports. No vin code.

67 GS 340 and California. No vin ID on this first year with "economy" GS line.
I had a GS 340. Very cool car. One of the reasons that I got rid of it was it was a nice example of a rare and unmolested car.
I couldn't bring myself to alter it and make it my own. I figured that I could buy a regular Skylark and do what I wanted.

I think it looks good with the wheels you have in the picture.

The engine has the VIN stamped on the smooth front face behind the power steering and A.I.R. pump. It is hard to find IMHO, not a deep stamping and usually covered with grease. I rebuilt my engine and found my ##s matched- 340 V8. :TU:

    wow, nice car.
Im looking for a 1967 Skylark Gs.
But especially a GS just because of the hood and other GS stuff.

But thats the difference in taste.

    Thank's.
Im going to try and repair the hood. I did everything to it then came online and decided to look into the car. After seeing some complete restos and realizing the hood is what makes the car.

I bought mine the way i was just added wheels. It sat under a tree for a long time. Everytime I went to my friend's house (no longer friend)
I didnt pay attention to it. He had washed it up and I said what you doing with that? He said my dad sold it to my cousin I was like man If i would have
knew it was that nice under all that dirt leaves etc I would have bought it. Well his cousin wanted a daily for work and he didnt like the gas mileage.
my buddy's dad called me up and said he doesnt want the car I'm going to buy it back you want it I said yes how much? He told me 4 grand I said I'll be there went with the
cash he said no give me a grand here's the pink slip pay me the rest in payments how ever you want so I gave him 1 grand for 3 month's.

I saw a white Special GS post v6 at the GS nationals in Bowling Green several years ago. That car was a puzzle as to authenticating it. The owner said he was sure it was real, but prooving it, was a puzzle. It was an option of additional trim and badges only. However, the chances of someone faking it are very slim. Having all the parts necessary and puting then all on a post car is a low probability.
Many 68-72 skylarks get cloned due to their availibiliy and hardtop styling, BUT cloning's very rare for 67 and older models.
I think you have a rare species there. I would save all those parts or re-install them, then make it pretty and let people ask questions.
Have fun and drive it with care.
