I just received a new pair on quarter chrome seals by TWE for my '72 GS. Two years ago, I purchased a pair (TWE brand) from a local company.
As u know, two splines hold the seals in place when installed. The inside spline completely separated on both the driver and passenger window chromes. the splines are less that half the thickness of an original pair that I have, which are in good shape.
After I complained to the retailer, they sent me a replacement set at no cost. Thin splines on the new ones. Maybe there is too much inward pressure on the seals if my glass location was out of whack? But i never adjusted the glass position.
Any of u fellows experienced similar problems?

If I install my GM originals, what can I use to lubricate the rubber to make installation easier?

A little clear silicone will help them slide in easier, and after it cures, it will provide a permanent seal against dirt and moisture.
Any access silicone can be removed easily. but using the silicone does make it a little more difficult if they need to be replaced again. :TU:

Silicone spray lubricant or just plain ole Vaseline like momma used to use when you were a kid.
