Louis, I believe theese are for a 215 V8 probably from a Land Rover or other British Leyland product I do not think they will fit a 340 Buick.

    Good luck,Peter New York USA

    Hi,
They aren't British Leyland, no UK rover or land rover came with a quad sidedraught carb set up, they are an aftermarket tuning inlet.
I'm not 100% sure who the manufacturer was but they are very rare, and they will fit a Buick 215 (rover V8), a buick 300 and the 340, usually inlet manifolds won't fit from one engine to the other due to the deck height, ( the heads on a 300 are wider apart than the 215 and the 340 intake is wider than the 300).

i.e. If you have two 215 or 300 or 340 cylinder heads on a bench any of the intakes will bolt on to the heads, but the intakes are different widths so cannot be used across the engine range.

Because these are two separate intakes it doesn't matter how wide apart the heads are. Two twin 40 or 45 sidedraught weber carbs fit on each manifold.

I already have a stand alone thermostat housing that attaches between the water outlets at the front by using hoses, the only part I need to make up is a valley cover ( like the 215 has )as when using these intakes the valley with the pushrods will be open( the factory manifold usually covers this area).

I'm really after info on carb sizes, 40, 45, 48, etc and jetting sizes that anyone out there with a quad set up is using, cheers Louis

if those fit the 340 and use webers and some headers, head work, cam, etc you will really make that 340 come alive.
the 340 is just as under rated as the 350 imho.

"Rare" is a over used word these days - it usally means:

    "I don't have any"
"No one could ever make something that was made before?"
"I have it - you want it"

It's just as the air everyone breaths - less of it, means it's getting "Rare"

Rare in 215" world is equal to a set of Traco down draft weber intakes, or Mag Oil pan (lighter than Alum.), Mickey Thompson's Indy motor front cover drives (chain or gear), laydown hilborn injectors or the laydown Pierburg injection set up (english).

    just some thoughts
