I picked up a 455, numbers show it to be a 1971. Did the '71 455 come with the 800 Qjet??? It has a carb. , a Qjet, but can't remember what to look at, my friend told me once, I think it was something on the bottom side. Gary G.
1971 was the first year the 455 got the 800 carb, but that doesn't mean you have the original carb on the car. What is the carb #?(look above the secondary throttle shaft, driver's side) This picture might help. The outer venturi on an 800 is 1/8" bigger than the 750. Look for the bump.
