OK this may sound crazy but ............... I just put my rebuilt Q-Jet on and noticed that when I floor the car from the gas pedal the cable does not open the carb all the way? Everything is tight? No slack in cable? It just seems like my pedal needs to go about another 1/4 of an inch?

(note with someone holding the gas pedal to the floor the carb is only half way into the secondairies).

Might need an adjustable cable mount. Or, check to make sure yours isn't bent.

I've noticed over the years that the gas pedel bends creating this problem. Normally I just pull up on the pedel "bending" it slightly to get full throttle again.

Something I also should have said! Last year I noticed the kick down was not working and saw it was also a cable to the pedal. I opened the clip and pulled all the slack out of that cable and recrimped it. Now the trans kick down works great at any speed within the motors rev range.

But now I wonder if I have that cable to tight and it does not alow the ges pedal to go any farther?
