I need some Q-jet tunning tips. My car set up for a some time I had the stabal in it though. the Idle is good when the car is stoped an runs good once you get going. It is just when I first let out on the clutch the RPMs drop way off when I try an take off from a stop. an will almost die untill give it some revs, then once I am going it will run fine there are no jerking are searging. just at the next stop light it wants to die when I try an take off with out reving it up? any thoughts?

Don't take this the wrong way, but it sounds like you just lost the "feel" for that car's clutch while it sat up. Doesn't sound like a carb problem. Or maybe the clutch/flywheel surface deteriorated/got rough while sitting up.

Bad accelerator pump? (That provides a squirt of fuel when you press the accelerator) The pump cup could get weak while sitting.

Easy to test. With the engine off, pull the air cleaner, look down the primaries and then quickly open the throttles. Should hear a squirting sound and maybe see it as well. Second opening less so and so on.

It is also possible that the power piston in the carb has started to stick due to its sitting up. You can check that with a pocket screwdriver carefully placed in the front bowl vent. The piston should smoothly yield to the screwdriver, and return due to the spring force. Ray

After I made my post I did think accelerator pump. With the car moving, in gear, if you stomp it, does it respond appropriately? If so, accelerator pump is ruled out. If not, it could be accelerator pump, or secondary adjustment. However, if it is a secondary issue, it will probably go at first, then bog.
