Pulled my top end down today and found a new cam in it, but don't have a clue what it is. There are stamped numbers on the end of the cam. 5c183 Then: 290104 there is an M to the left of the 290104 number. Numbers stamped into the cast between lobes is: 1231 then 304. Like to know what this is. Next I will post some cast numbers from the block. Thanks:)

you might have to put it back in and then degree it, to see what the specs. are.

Thanks Kelly, I didn't know if the numbers were good for anything. Guess there not. Hoped I had a good cam.

    Cam

Mike at TA could I.D. the cam, or tell you the manufacturer most likely. But if you didn't keep track of each lifter in the exact bore it came out of, you will need to buy a new cam & lifters anyway, unless you want to take a chance.....:Do No:

    Re: Cam

We all reuse old cams. Just use new lifters and do a little breakin when you first fire it up. No biggie.
