Looking good! That 1970 Valve cover will give you fits on the heaterbox side of the Regal. Also, theres alot of us guys in the Big Cars forum who will be happy to canabalize that 70 LeSabre, so don't forget to advertise the parts there.

Bottom line, will it fit this bay (with a/c)?

    Fingers crossed,
    Dan

I had a 455 in my 84 Regal. A little snug back there but it all worked good.
Actually now that I think about it. I helped my brother-in-law swap the v-6 to a 350 in his 86 Regal. We didn't buy any new motor mount pads or anything, we just moved them to a different spot and welded them in. It was a cheap street car, that was fun to drive thats for sure.

It'll fit, but I highly recommend a slanted valve cover from a mid-late seventies 350.

I cracked my Heater/A/C box  wasn't careful enough when I dropped my 350 in, not to mention the engine has aftermarket aluminum valve covers.

So I ended up removing the entire assembly and am going to be putting a sheet metal cover on for now.

I am trying to locate a Non A/C heater box for a G-body, could be a tough find.

    Hi Guys,

    Guitargoalie....This MAY help you....

The current issue of Car Craft (Dec '05), top of page 30...
"The Magic Box" by American Graffiti Classic & Performance Cars & Parts is currently making non-A/C boxes that cover the A/C holes that the non-A/C boxes do not and look factory installed. It says that the '78-88 A/G-Bodies are "coming soon". They are already producing for the '68-72 A-Bodies, '67-69 F-Bodies, '68-74 X-Bodies, '70-81 F-Bodies & '73-77 A-Bodies. Also says there are NO modifications required of the firewall.:TU:

Looks like their website is... www.Americangraffiti.biz . They are located in Lakewood, CO. Phone number is (800)300-1494 or (303)275-9099.

    Hope this helps...:)

    Very helpful actually.

I had found thier website a few monthes ago but saw nothing for G-body's.

Hopefully they will get a finished product out soon, would completely solve my problems.

    Thanks for the heads up.

    Update and A/C delete question...

Well its been a bit but the weather was too nice to pass up pulling the 350 (seeing as I cant get it in the garage)...

Just wish the damn blaster would get off his behind and get my A arms back...

Floyd, I see what you mean with the valve cover. It looks just enough of a PITA to push me to an A/C delete job. I have the A/C box out right now. Will a non-A/C box bolt right in? I was told it didn't due to a much larger opening required with A/C, but then this was from a company that wanted me to buy their box, which I just might do regardless.

This is correct. G bodys were available non-A/C. If the firewall was the same you'd see non-A/C heaterboxes changing hands all the time. This is the purpose of the new aftermarket box. A non-A/C heaterbox that covers the larger hole. I wonder if you E-mailed them again and asked about a bulk buy discount? I want one, I bet others do to. Maybe we get something going on?

    I guess they'll do 10% off for 10 units.
I'm game but it hasn't got much play over at Malibu Racing.

Or we could arrange our own and invite them over...

yeah dog, that's 3 of us......I could do like three 86-87 Regals right now if I wanted too! Screw that AC I destroyed my box and right now I've got a piece of sheetmetal over the hole, and I've got some major room for some bigger speakers up front!! :beer
