Can anyone give me some feedback on the quality of OPG parts. I need some chrome door handles(inside and out) also some chrome pieces for the buckets. I found that some of their prices are half of what Yearone's would be. Legendary also sells alot of interior chrome- any feedback on their stuff as well. I have bought alot from YearOne and was satisfied with their parts.
I have checked out The Parts Place too , am a little leary about buying stuff i can not see. I could not even find a phone # to call them on their webb site.Do they offer a catalog??

    Thanks, Gary

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

Year One is the most expensive place to buy parts and their outrageous shipping charges are insult to injury.

I buy all of my parts from OPG, PPI and Poston's. Never had a problem.

Remember, there are only 1 or 2 manufacturers of A-body parts such as door handles, w-strip, interior door handles, etc.

So, for commonly shared items such as door handles, bucket seat trim, etc, contact a Chevelle supplier for the cheapest/best prices. I deal with www.nationalpartsdepot.com since they have a major warehouse about 80 miles north of me in Ocala FL and I get parts next day by FedEx.

For interior items such as door panels, seat covers, etc those are made by Legendary and PUI and sold by all aftermarket A-body vendors. So......do some shopping around.

PPI (Parts Place) is one of the few places that make Skylark/GS specific parts for us overseas and their quality is excellent such as 70-71 GS grills, 70 taillights, 70 washer bottles.

I have some individual vendors on our site that sell direct to you. Great example is the 70-72 radiator overflow bottle and 455 throttle cables.

OPG is the slowest shipper and if you do not ask them as you go they will not tell you items are not in stock untill the end of the order. When I say slow I mean it will not go out for a week or more and then add on ground time to the east coast.

Example: I made the mistake of placing an order with Opg on May 2, 2006. I was careful to make sure each item was in stock so this issue would not delay the shipment. I called May 11, to say "Well where is it?" only to find that the order would not even be pulled at their warehouse until May 12, 2006. Then it will have to be shipped ground from California.

YO is high but a quick shipper and it has the best web site and pics by leap years over all competitors.

Example: I oalso ordered from YO on May 2, 2006 and the large order arrived in only a few days.

For parts that cross over to a Chevelle I would add www.ss396.com. For example 70-72 outside door handles come to mind. Their web site is diifficult.

I am down on the quality of some of Poston's stuff. Their repro seal plates are trash can material. Diffiicult web site here too.

I would also consider www.thepartsplaceinc.com. Quick shippers and they carry some odd things you cannot find elsewhere. Difficult web site relative to say YO.

I placed my first order with OPGI a few weeks ago.
I found them to be very slow as well.
It took a week for them to even acknowledge my order, and then almost another week to ship it. :Dou: I don't know about you guys... but I don't have that kind of time. I probably won't go back to them for anything again unless they have a GREAT price and I have lots of time.

I've had great success with TA Performance, Poston, and The Parts Place.
Matter of fact, I placed another order with TPP last night, and I recieved an email today with the UPS tracking number already. :TU:

Never tried Year One. Too pricey for my tastes. They do have a very nice website though. I use the pictures for reference alot since the Poston and TPP websites aren't the greatest.

I have ordered from Postons and was very happy with the freight prices and quality of the items ordered and the fast shipping.OPG on the other hand has never once been able to fill a order from the catalog even if the catalog was right off the printing press, always backorder problems and shipping is high but have never found them to be slow, well, once they rounded up all the parts anyway.Hope you have goodluck with whoever you decide to go with.

OPG is a week behind on shipping orders out.

They wanted $14.00 to ship a $4.00 decal.
