Does anyone have any experience with the predator carb? I am running a 350 w/ head work, poston 112 cam, ta intake, headers, msd6a, etc. This is a strip only car. I am currently using a 750 holley dbl pumper with a proform center section. Any thoughts?? Are the Predators easy to adjust? I had one given to me and don't know a thiong about them. Any help would be appreciated...

I tried one back in the early 80's. It was before they put accelerator pumps on them. It was nothing or wide open. Had tremendous throttle response. But track performance was subpar. Did a back to back to back type carb test at the track one day. The #4781 850 Holley was the champ in et and mph. The worked QJ was a close second. The 800 TQ was just barely passable and I couldn't get the 1000TQ tuned right (I was expecting big things out of it). I'm reasonably certain the 1000TQ would have been the winner if I had learned more about them & spent more time with it. They were a favorite with many of the Buick guys back then. I settled on the QJ as it was a drive to the strip and race type car and the Holley had about 1/2 the fuel economy. The QJ had the best street manners to boot. The Predator was last place in every category. I guess they improved them a little, but I lost interest in fooling with them.

Thanks for the input. I am not dissatisfied with my current setup as I trailer it to the strip and economy is not really an issue. I was more curious about tunability and overall strip performance of the Predator. I used a Qjet back in the early 90's and it was great for the street but lacked at the strip. Still looking for the golden egg so to speak...
