Hey guys, not that any of you need help but, since I've basicly removed every nut, bolt, and screw on mine, I've gained a great deal of knowledge on the ins n outs of these 65's...if you ask me before you start something, I might be able to help. My project started with some rust in the back window that needed attention. Turned into total addiction. Now I have a garage full o Buick...lol Going great! She's gonna be clean through n through. Bumper to bumper. Hoping for a June launch!!!
Hey, 65lark if you put a stock 455 Buick in that car I'm sure you'll have more power than a 383 chevy. It would almost be a sin to put a chevy motor in such a nice car.
I understand where you are coming from, but I dont want a big block in my car. I want the light weight and massive parts availability of the chevy. I've never been one for restorations and the orignallity part of this hobby. Hell, if it were real easy, I'd put the 347 Ford motor in the Skylark, but I wont. Nick, I do have a question for you, check your PM's.
BTW Phil/65Lark, You are mistaken about the parts quest. Now that you are a Buick owner, you will find there is no shortage on parts. (we'll just keep that as our little secret though, ok) There are plenty to be found through guys here at v8 aswell as links to all you'll need. As you already know I have purchased a garage full, most from one or two places. Spend some time with your project and put a list together of things you would like to do. Ask a question or two and be pointed down the Buick Highway!! Please forget the whole chevy thing, it really is not as quick a fix as you may think. Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, you will be better off going all Buick all the time. Click around this board, do some searches, read and write some posts, and be enlightened!!
Newest toy Here is a picture of the newest toy that i will be picking up. Going to make a very good low 12 second bracket car.

George, Looks great!!!! I did not realize you were the high bidder on ebay. It really is a beauty!!!! Take care.
Anyone with a bench seat in their 65 Akylark, please check out this thread. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=19917 Thanks.
64 skylark Well here is the car I bought last year. It will be getting the 455 hopefully within the next year. The interior is a mix and has a goofy little floor shifter that will be replaced with a console. Dave was nice enough to take this picture for me as I left it outside for the day.
And now that my little girl has seen Ed's convertible, she likes it more than my 68... uzzled: o No: Oh well, I like it too Ed!
ED That Car looks SSSSSSSAAAAAWWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET:TU: :TU: :TU: Very coool btw those wheels look familiaro No:
Thanks guys, pictures of cars are like girls in dark bars. They look better than they really are. Chris, The wheels and tires are 15 inch and are 255/60 in the back and 235/60 in the front. I couldn't buy the BF's since there were French. The 14s are still on the 67 GS and I will be pulling the motor sometime soon. I have the core 455 for the 64 in the garage but the 67 comes first. I found out from JW it has big port heads I hope eveything is going well with your little girl and if you are at the back to the 50's car show look for me or call me since I will be there.
