powerglide for 350??

    Will an early '60's chevy powerglide bolt up to a buick 350??

    Chevy and Buick had different bell housing bolt patterns, so, no, not without an adapter.

    Thanks for the help. I am assuming the same would apply if I put my '68 buick 350 into an '81 el camino with a stock trans.

    If you want a 2 speed transmission, look for an early-mid 60's Buick ST300. It's bascially Buicks version of the powerglide.

    I was asking because a guy offered me a 305 long block and powerglide for $100. And I figured the trans case alone should be worth that.

    I would rather a th350 (3 speed auto), or 200R4 (4 speed auto) instead of that 2 speed....

    I agree. The only appropriate use of a Powerglide behind a Buick engine is

    OK... dumb question here.... Will the adapter plate for the bellhousing also adapt the torque converter to bolt up to the flywheel???

    The kit should also provide a spacer that will fit the converter snout and span the distance to the pilot at the back of the crankshaft.

    ok.. that gets one more question out of the way... Now back the the problem of bolting the converter to the flywheel??
