Hey guys! I was wondering, I have a 1970 Riviera parts car with the power windows. Is it possible to install them on my GS?I mean the doors on the Riv and the GS are not the same, do I need to change the tracks or just add the motors?.... Thanks.. Marc
I think the motors are the same. Not sure on the other stuff. Wiring harness may be different as well.
Parts Car Marc - that '70 Riv parts car got a glovebox ? Looking for a non AC glove box for my '68 Riv (#1383737). I don't think the window swap would be an easy one, motors may be the same, but the hardware may not match? Pretty sure you'd be better off swapping parts out of a GS that has power windows. o No: :TU:
Only the pwr window motors are the same from the Riv. To swap a '70-72 2 door A-body over from manual to pwr windows, one needs '70-72 A-body power window regulators, harnesses, switchs, pwr window relay, & the jumper wire. Currently have several sets of '70-72 A-body pwr window regulators, but am short on wiring harnesses for every different division of GM A-body. :3gears: Roger
I have an article on our site for this swap. You can use the wiring harness, motors, relay from the Riv. You will need the proper regulators and door boots. Door boots are available as repro. See the article for all items you need.
