On the power steering pump cap of my '60 Lesabre 364 it says use automatic transmission fluid. Is that the right cap on it??

yes, I believe it said to use type A automatic trans fluid. A few guys have had good luck with mobil 1 synthetic atf , when the fluid was replaced. I went with that as well, but havent driven it yet. The synthetic has better lubricating properties, and most important, reduces temps .

I used plain ATF in my 60, think it was just the regular Dextron III type. Works fine. I gotta replace my PS pump as it's going bad but it's not as a result of the ATF, it's been bad since day 1.

If your pump is noisy, check the nut on the pulley......it may be loose.:bglasses:
