I purchased my GS with the motor in peices while I've almost got it all back together now I've noticed that the p/s bracket looks nothing like I've seen before. It is only two small peices. When I had my lesabre 350 the bracket on the back was bigger is there is different??

    68-70 ( 1378150)was one style while 71-72 (1234485 & 1234487)was another.
I know mine has only two bent steel pieces bolted to the engine.
The earlier ones had a large casting, maybe aluminum, in addition to bent steel pieces.
I'm actually looking for a later style set to clean-uo this winter & swap onto my car.
If what you have is not desireable, I'd be interested in them.

There are lots of different PS set ups. Are you putting together a 350 or 455? If 455 you need the triangular alunimum bracket that bolts to the head--pretty common, and the steel plates that bolt to the front and back of the pump, which are 68-70 (might be slightly off on the years here) big block Buick A-body specific.

When I bought my 70 Stage1, it had the 71-72 style P/S setup.

I then got the correct 70 pump, and brackets, and installed them.

another view of the 70 455 set up. 70 350 is similar, but the steel plates are different and make the pump sit higher

350 is what I'm looking for. Sorry about the confusion.

OK. It should look like Larry's and my pictures, except the two steel plates that bolt to the pump are a different shape. The top edge of the steel plate is at an upward-sloping angle, rather than downward. This makes the pump sit higher.
