Hey, So in my 70 GS 455 the previous owner installed a 76 455 block with 72 heads and 70 power steering pump. I currently have a (who know what year) power steering bracket # 1241787. I do have the correct aluminum 70 and side brackets. My question is, would the correct 70 power steering bracket setup bolt to my Frankenstein 76 motor and 72 head setup? Would the pulleys still line up? Trying to get my 70 as close to a 70. Thanks!
Those are 350 steel brackets,..wont work on a 455,..Todd from diecast will have them $85ish but yes once you get those you will be good to go
Cool, Thanks. Does it matter if I have the long nose water pump style? And to get the pulley off the pump, is the thread normal (lefty loose)? Or is it reversed threaded?
I do have the 70 455 P. S. Brkts in stock. They will work for you as long as you have the correct pulleys AND the correct water pump. Depending on your pulleys my guess is you'll need short snout water pump. I have all the part numbers of the parts that work together. If you want to call me sometime I'll be happy to discuss what you have and what you may need. I stock all the correct bolts in kit form for p.s. set ups as well. . .
Hey Todd, it’s Nick from NC. I got all the bolts from you a couple months back. (76 motor with 72 intake), we had to mix and match bolts. Looks like I may be stuck with that oversized BCE power steering bracket. I already put on a new long nose pump and the crank and water pump pulleys are 72 year and later. (1235777 and 123577) Does that negative battery cable i got from you go to this bolt in the AC bracket.
It can go there but on some A/C cars it can mount to the top compressor mounting bracket also. Kind of depends on the car and year.......
