Power bucket seat mounting???

I just picked up a set of power bucket seats for my 69 Skylark convertible. The mounting brackets where the seat bolts down are closer together than a regular bucket mounting bracket would be. Do I need a special bracket to mount the power bucket to the floor? What would I use? The passenger side bucket is just like any other bucket seat, so I can use the regular mounting holes and bracket for that.

    Any ideas?

You need to get the p.seat floor brkts. Those are available new/repro for $75/pr. They will need to be welded to the floor. OPGI carries them.

George, do you know if they are the same for bench seats? I chizeled a pair off the car when i first got it. What a mess that made!

The p.bucket seat has mounting points 11.5" apart (stud-to-stud) location from front to back. The non-power buckets are 15" apart. So, you need the p.bucket brkts for your conversion.

As for p.bench, I believe the distance is the same as non-p.bench.

    George,

Found this post searching for info on bucket seat mounting. Can you give me the dimensions for mounting the inner bracket (trans tunnel side) to the floor to convert a bench car to non-power buckets? (side to side measurement).

    Thanks

    Dave,
If you bought both p.seat brkts, you can use the front two points to mount the seat. There is a drawing on our site below indicating the position of studs for non-power. The front two are the same. Easiest way I have found is to use magnets to hold the brkts in place and install the p.seat mechanism (seat removed) to verify location. Those measurements in the drawing are good.

For the bench seat, driver's front hole, the power seat stud, should be 1" closer towards the trans hump. You should be able to verify this once you get
    the p.seat mechanism test located.
