Does anyone have a good close-up picture of what the correct, factory made vacuum tube looks like that goes with the nailhead 2-4's setup? I have a complete factory 2-4's setup I put on my '65 Skylark GS and I made a tube that looks close to what I think it should be, but I have never seen one to know exactly what it should look like. All I have to go by is the tube that came on the single 4bbl. setup for the various cars.
PB line I am having the same problem. I am putting power brakes on a 66 GS with 2 fours. The picture of the block coming off the front carb looks correct for 65 GS. I have a 65 GS with PB and auto and it has this fitting but the line is different that the picture. I also have a 66 GS parts car with BP on the 66 the line comes off the manifold with a small brass fitting like the later ones. Base on the 2 fours were a over the counter option, and not specific to Skylark, did the factory make a line specific to fit a Skylark. The big car line and hose looks different in the picture I have. If you are interested I can send you copies of factory 65 and 66 big cars with 2 fours from the factory manual. Bill Sangster.
Thanks for the pictures! I made mine like that with one addition--I put another bend in the end of the tube to point it forward after it crosse the valve cover. On the Skylark GS it would point right at the side of the brake booster since it is much closer to the engine than on the big cars. I was wondering the same thing--did the factory ever offer a PB vacuum tube for the 2-4's on a Skylark GS?
