Alrighty folks I have a 59 LeSabre, its a 4dr sedan (not the flat/hardtop) and I noticed when I got the car it's a power brake and power steering car from the factory, I don't mind the idea of power assisted brakes or steering but, the single resivior master cylinder and that tamato soup can for a booster seem pretty iffy, and with a lot of drivers getting more and more crazy and newer cars stopping better and faster, for the protection of my car I would like to go to a dual resivoir master cylinder, and of course with the original master cylinder and brake booster tucked under the power steering gear box there's not going to be enough room for it to fit, so I tried to do some research but trying to find good detailed pictures of certain options or areas on these cars is proving to be quite difficult. Did however see pictures of what appears to be a lesser optioned 59 with manual brake set up and the master cylinder was up above on the firewall. So my questions are, the master cylinder mounting patterns the same for all Buick and Chevy? in example would a c10 master cylinder mount without drilling Or do their have to be modifications made to mount a chevy style master cylinder to the firewall? My only other concerns are about attaching a "plunger" rod to the brake pedal and into the back of the master cylinder, will my power brake pedals work with the manual style brake set up? Thank you in advance for any help or advice!
