Any suggestions where I can send my 65 Skylark taillights to get repaired? They are straight but pitted and scratched up some. I put them on my freshly painted car with the newly chromed rear bumper and they are just not going to cut it. I keep looking for a nice pair to buy but no one is letting them go and I can understand why. I know great taillights are expensive as is repairing bad ones so that is not a problem.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Check with Pauls Chrome. Not cheap but good.

I have used The Finishing Touch in Chicago for all sorts of trim parts restoration.

    The quality is superb.

Lead times are long (4-6 months during busy season)

Costs are high. Your bezels could be $500 to $1,000.

You can also contact AIH Chrome in Iowa....I use them all the time for 70 headlight bezels.....they do primo work..........expect 2-4 months for them to come back and .....be prepared to pay....70 headlight bezels are about $250 each.....would expect your tailight to be at least that if not more.....it is a very labor-intensive project.

I just had some headlamp bezels plated for a 70 GS at A-W Custom Chrome (586) 775-2040, turned out great and only $160 a bezel. The nicer cores you have the better your chances are for a nicer finished product. HTH.

I'm glad to hear that you are satisfied with AIH. I sent them 2 separate lots of parts to finish. They came out nice, but each lot took a year to complete. I called them about every 2 months to make sure they weren't lost.

They all came out very nice. I was very satisfied with the quality of their work. They aren't afraid to charge for their work, which is reasonable to expect. Ther aren't in the business for their health.

I sent them a horn ring and what they sent back was from an Oldsmobile. I called them and they had me send it back and they sent me the right part. I was pretty aggravated since they made me pay for shipping the Oldsmobile part. I thought that was pretty uncalled for.

But, what I got from them was very nice.
