If you guys are enterested, Poston now has a website for online ordering. www.postonbuick.com Have not seen where anyone has mentioned this, so I thought I would.

  2. Actually, it has been mentioned a couple times previously, but I have yet to see anyone comment on how well the process works online? I know that Year One has online ordering now, but the function was very poor a few months ago when I ordered some stuff. I had to call to make sure the order was placed, as I got an error message when I submitted the order. The rep suggested not using online function just yet... Poston's? :Do No: I've had a bad experience with one of their products, and haven't gone back again.

I've got an s-divider intake i'm not to thilled with. Going to some port matching and clean the heads up a little. I'll see how that works out when I'm done. Gotta have a valve job done on the heads anyway. Guy that did my heads a year ago did a poor job. You get what you pay for. Live and learn.

I went to buy some pistons for my 300 that had a price
of $164 per there web site and they refused to honor It!
they came back with the line "the supplier raised there prices"
$250 is what they want for them now! :jd:

That's why I began my post with, " If you guys are interested". Don't you hate it when a vender does that to you. Just a lame excuse to raise prices. If it's printed in black and white they ought to honor it.

That's false advertising. There are laws against that. But then again, I'm sure they have a disclaimer.. prices subject to change..:Do No:

  8. From my personal experience...

I'm responsible for my employer's pricing/costing database. Not in the automotive field. We publish a 200+ page sales catalog on an annual basis. However, throughout the year, any number of our suppliers institute price increases typically in the 2-4% range. Most of these we absorb until we publish a new catalog each winter, but there are always items that take huge increases, in the 15-25% range. There's nothing we can do about these, and have to pass on the increase as we get them. Yes, "prices subject to change" is a fact of business.

HOWEVER, changing a webpage price is a matter of a few keystrokes, not a major catalog publishing project. Problem is, most companies don't regularly maintain/update their websites with new info like this pistons price increase, unless the web is their main source of sales. Why? :Do No: Could be they paid someone to set up the website, and don't have anyone on staff capable of maintaining it, keeping it current. And that's really poor planning. I personally would steer my business away from a company that won't honor what their web prices state. We publish a few special priced items on our company website, and you can bet we honor those prices. If we didn't, we would certainly lose customers over it. And I'm guessing Poston just lost a customer too.

  9. We just got an annual price update from one supplier, and over 300 items in the price list came out with 50 cents as the current list price. All are incorrect. Most are in the $10 - $300 list price range. We questioned the price list accuracy, and they discovered the error and faxed corrections lists. :Dou: :spank:

Prices are ALWAYS subject to change, from sugar to oil to pistons.

...but if you "advertise" a price, it should be honored. I think there is a law which says such, regardless of their so called disclaimer. Disclaimers are only sometimes as good as the consumer lets them be. We all think a disclaimer, just because it says something that it's etched in stone.

In my opinion it's false advertising. They are responsible for updating their website, not us. They took the time to post the 1st price, they should have taken the time to post the updated price. No excuses.

    My point exactly. :TU:

    They faxed correction lists.

I'll bet Poston would leave that up on their website for 6 years.

Sometimes I think these places create a website because it's the "in thing" to do, without first realizing that to maintain a website you need to take some time. A lot of these places just blow off their websites while we are trying to place orders on them. It's a joke.

Whatever my TRUE feelings are on this issue isn't revelvant. BUT if any company advertises a price (web, paper, TV, it doesn't matter!), and they wouldn't honor that price for whatever reason, they would definetely lose a sale if not me as a customer!:af: :blast:

300guy; hopefully you can find those pistons elsewhere, especially cheaper than the $250 Poston NOW wants! Good luck shopping!:)

based on their online store layout, I'd say a community college dropout designed it. This is the only buick website I'll order from, even if I still have to call in the order - taperfomance.com
