I put the Poston-S intake and Edelbrock 750cfm square bore carb on my 68 350. I put this engine in my 85 Regal and am trying to connect my throttle and kick down cable to the carb using the throttle bracket that came with the 85 Regal. I am finding there is no way to just bolt the bracket on to the intake without seriously modifying the bracket. I didn't have this problem with the Edelbrock intake used on the V6 previously in there. Is there another bracket I can buy that will bolt on, either third party or different model year Buick bracket? The way I have it now lets me, sort of, use the throttle cable but it's not real straight on and the kickdown cable is useless now. Help! MARK
If you can't make the stocker work there is a universal throttle/kickdown bracket that fits over the back bolt on the carb to hold it in place. Costs like $15 and works OK. I am running the same intake and was able to use the stock bracket, but I have no kickdown (4 speed).
Thanks. Do you know who I get the kickdown bracket from? Edelbrock? I have my throttle hooked up for now. MARK
