Poston 112a and 112 are very different cams. The 112a reminds me of the old smooth idle/very very slight lope KB 1H "Family" camshaft. Ran one of those the in the old Riv and liked it much better than the GS-116 it replaced. Poston 112 is more a street/strip cam, a modified version of the old 107 "window rattler."

This is a very good camshaft. I like the low end torque and this thing pulls hard up to 6000RPM without let up. It is very strong. I like the .477" lift it seems to be easier on the parts and make great power. I have the advance @ 0 degrees, but this cams likes advance and will be moving it to 2 degrees for next year.

    455 bored .40 over
    deck @ -.005
    felpro head gasket .42 thick
Intake B4B edlbrock an old, old one, 20 plus years.
    Balance rotating assembly
Speedpro 8 1/5:1 but with the mill job block and heads 10.5:1 actual, unless my calculator is broke.
Stage I heads stainless valves bronzewall guides
850 Holley with a holley blue pump, 3/8 gas line
    Poston headers
Pertronics ignition in Delco box - Switching to MSD digital plus
    Roller rocker arms 1.6 ratio

I haven't gone to the track since overhaul. My last run was 11:95ET @ 114.25 MPH as my main bearing were melting down. I had a Chevy guy go for a ride with me last Saturday and he said (with a wide grin that later had to be pryed off) "the car feels like 11:20s. It is seriouly stronger than the 11:95 previously run but 11:20???? I don't Know, but I will very soon. Weight on this vehicle race ready 3950lb.
