Wanted to start a thread on flow numbers to stock 455 Iron Heads. I've been curious to what these heads are capable of and what amount of work goes into them. If anyone has some stock head flow numbers please post them. Post pics if you have them. I'll start it off.

Here is a set I have recently done.
Casting #860 '73 Stage One valves w/ back cut, valves unshrouded, bowl ported, guide tear dropped, pushrod pinch or "choke point" widened, SSR widened, ports not raised or epoxied.

Flowed on a Saenz S-600 using a Buick Slider Plate w/ 4.310 bore and clay.

Those are good numbers for intake. I only have 264 at .550 (28 in.). What's the exhaust numbers?

That is nice looking work with great #'s .When you flowed them on the 4.310 bore did you center the intake to compensate for the smaller bore?

    Sorry for the image size.

I will have some exhaust numbers shortly. Not a whole lot done to the exhaust side as of yet. Still doing some experimenting.:idea2:

I had a custom slider plate made from Brzezinski with this bore size so the bore location is correct.

    Let's see some more!!!

Hoping to see more responses. Don't be shy, just wanting to prove the performance of Stock Iron heads and would like others input of similar experiences. Let's see some more!:TU:

Mine flowed 285 cfm at .550 intake and 202 cfm at .550 exhaust. They were ported by PAE almost 10 years ago. The car ran a best of 11.18 @122 so far with them on ET Streets with full 3" exhaust.

Here's some AM&P head flow #s. These#'s are with 73 860's, only the SS done and the bowls. Stg1 valves.

Never satisfied, on the intakes I opened the pushrod pinch point, opened the ports up and streamlined the guides. Presently lowering the guides .300". I'll post #s when I have them flowed......Ray

Sorry for posting off subject, I've done some port work on my iron heads and since where I live there's no flow bench nor any professional porter I want to ask you (board members) for you opinion on my work.
I took a couple of pictures before cleaning the heads but I think you can get the idea of how good or bad the work is.
    Thank you.
