posi traction oil

Is time to change my axle oil. I have a canadian 12 bolt posi. How much oil
I have ti put ? and it is better synt oil ? Can I put gm limited slip additive it is the same as the gm posi additive ?

drain well. then put in posi lube additive and then fill untill the lube begins to run back out of the filler hole. replace the plug, works every time:laugh:

 

ok thanks I bought limited slip additive at NAPA. The guy says its the same as posi additive ?

Yes, that should be the same additive. It is a must have otherwise the unit will chatter untill it self destructs.

 

Most manufacturer's recommend to NOT use synthetic with their posi units. Check to make sure.

 

i would suggest that u buy the posi lubes/additives from a gm dealer . all lubes are not the same . i have a friend (67 el camino) who has tried the non-gm posi lubes & has had nothing but trouble & had to switch back to gm fluids .
