Posi tag?

Hi, I located a 65 Lesabre in a junkyard and was wondering about the rear. I can't get under it and it's in a bad spot but I did notice it has a metal tag on one of the bolts (10 bolt)

Does that mean it's a posi or could a non posi also have a tag?

GOOD CHANCE it is a posi...What condition it is in is another???

is the tag located on the passenger side of the cover about 5 O'clock ?

If yes then it was probably original.

Go talk to the yard manager/owner and slip the guy some $$$$ and have them move the car....all the yards I visit will move a car or cars in order to sell parts....last thing they want is to put the car in the crusher when they could have sold more parts from it.

I finally got that rear yesterday. It's complete and on ebay now:

It's a 3.08 POSI. Drums available seperately.

Bob, Did you open this rear? Do you know the condition? If not seems kind of risky to toss something up on the BAY with out any knowledge of what is really in there? Just a thought. Jim

If you did open you should have put pictures of the posi unit.

 

I'll see if it gets any bites first. I can always pop the cover off for anyone interested.
