The Eaton replacement posi unit is a clutch type unit. I have one in my 1970, 8.5, 3.42 geared car. The bad part is that it does not have the larger bearing boss on the left/drivers side. I had a spacer made to allow the installation of the larger bearing on the posi carrier.
