Being 256 cfms on the intake at .500, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't reach the 10's. The aluminum stage 1's with alittle work come out at 300+ and you still need the right combo to achieve that low of a number. A majority of the power are in the heads, so get the best you can.

    10's?

It can be done,Randy "Outrageous" is running consistent 10's with a best of 10.58 with heads in the 250's on intake, maxi 3 cam,11 to 1 compression,850 holly etc,its all combination,in fact this was his street motor we built 3 yrs ago.Contact randy for the rest of the combination.

    Hi Guys,

I don't know if anyone noticed it or not but the auction states those heads were flowed at 25" not the standard 28", that in itself would make a difference in the overall numbers top to bottom.:)

    10 sec. iron heads.

If you can grab these heads for 1k or under, you certainly can build an economical 10 sec car that will live. Gary built mine in 1999, so it's been together for sometime putting on 200+ passes + 2 years of street duty without any problems whatsoever. Heck i just changed the plugs for the first time this year. Camshaft selection with any head is very important & can make or break an engine combination. Good Luck!! Randy

    Hey Guys,

Let me add a note to this thread. The owner of these cylinder heads did not have a flow sheet when he purchased them so I had them flow tested for the current owner. I can tell you that these heads are a nice set of heads that will produce NICE power. The flow numbers are at 25" of H2O and to correct the numbers to 28" then you need at add about 5%. That would put the peak numbers at just under 270. The nice thing about these heads is the way they were ported. Most of the runner was left very small which will keep air speed up. Put it this way... .I am personally watching this auction myself!!!

Oh... and Randy's heads... On OUTRAGEOUS flow less than these heads. But when I ported them for Randy I left the runners smaller for better air speeds.

    Happy Bidding
