    I have a set of heads that came off a 71 Riviera. They have the large valves. Had them freshened and ported. I believe they flowed 240/160. 1200 invested. Only have break in time on them.1000 firm plus shipping.

    I have a set available. True Stage 1 heads. Mild port work and bowl cleanup done. Bronze guides. They have maybe 5000 miles on them. I have new TA valves, springs and retainers still in the boxes. 1100.00 plus the ride.

    Guys, I'm considering scrapping the idea of stage 1 heads or converted heads and just going with the small valve and a good port job. Or possibly aluminum for a future build.

    You might want to add this to the title of the thread;

    Stage 1 iron heads or small valve small chamber heads, ported a bonus.

    Or something like that. GL

    Thanks Dennis, I finally decided that I need to wait and find a set already ported. I'm sure this would be a good set for someone looking to put an original motor back together.

    I have a set on my car that Ron Anderson Performance did years ago and then Bob at Finishline freshened up a few years ago. Flowed 260+/190+ after Bob freshened them. Looking at upgrading to the Stage 2's. $1600 plus the ride.

    Thanks Mike! Right now, it's a little over my budget but I'll keep them in mind. Much appreciated.

    What are you looking to spend? I have some other heads that are stock.

    About $800-$1000 for ported. Seems to be about the going rate. If I get much higher, then aluminum makes more sense to me. I'm going to stick with ported now. Thanks!

    I have a set of 67-68 big port heads, gasket match ported and polished, new valve guides with new stock valves. Spring seats have been ground down to support a bigger cam lift. Never installed, but still bagged from the machine shop. I'd let them go for $1000.00.
