okay fellas my car was a little sluggish while cranking and she wouldn't stay runnin in drive at a stop but was fine while moving. So today i started playing with the timing and idle a little, i don't have a light so i was doing it by ear, i got it where it was idling fine in drive then i drove it before i made it to the end of the street it started making a loud noise i put my hand over the carburator and it sounds like its coming from there? anybody have a idea

maybe dumb but it happened to me.

check your plug wires again. i musta drove about 1.5 months with 2 of my wires switched wouldent pop after it warmed up though. :Do No:

also check to make sure your carb is tight. (I had a combo of both problems) the latter was a 2bbl problem only though. I could have un done the blots by hand. (did actualy just before i put the new 4bbl on.

    oil pressure?

my buddy came over this morning , so i crunk her up he told me it sounded like the oil pressure was low and it wasn't getting enough oil, i looked at my oil pump and I noticed a little leak. Have anyone ever heard of this? well anyway i am going to change the whole front cover and install some gauges, i am on a tight budget,(just finishing rebuild),so will the gauges from autozone work fine?
