I have stripped the paint off of mine. If you started with what I have now, you must have put some big time hours into them!
this 1 cover took me almost 4 hours to do. i sanded it outside,and the wind threw all the dust on my girlfriend's white Acura it looked like Mt St Helens erupted on it,and my particle mask is black i used a 34 grit disc to get the coating off then i sanded with: 40 grit 60 grit 100 grit 120 grit 150 grit 220 grit 240 grit 400 grit 600 grit 800 grit
I have a set of black covers but really like the polished look. Are you interested in doing this on others? (Assuming your girlfriend hasn't killed you for messing up her Acura. :grin: ) Also, do you intend to use any sort of clear coating to avoid tarnishing, etc?
