the actual ply rating of these tires would have been 4 ply rating with 2 ply sidewalls , car passenger tires . they would have been polyester plies .
fyi , the cost of these tires as sold to gm by bf goodrich , would have been about $12.00 cdn . i worked at bfg in canada in 1969 .

Thanks for your answer but the interrogation I had was not about ply rating but the ply color indication on the build sheet.
On both build sheets that I found, the letter "E" was mentionned under it.
This is one from a non Gran Sport.
On this one the tire codes are SIZE"F" and PLY COLOR"E"

On the other one (from a Gran Sport with whitewall tires) the
TIRE SIZE"H" and PLY COLOR "E" codes are used.

I haven't found the build sheet for my car but It had the red line tire option. I would like to have the codes for the red line tires.
I know the option code was "F8" like the Gran Sport code was "A9" but I don't know the codes that should have been used on the build sheet.
Here is a picture of my car's spare tire. It is a Goodyear Speedway Wide Tread H70-15 tire.
