My mother had her 1st heart attack and stroke this past Wednesday. She had a heart cath due to 95% blockage in a main artery. Has 69% blockage in both carataid (sp?) that supply blood oxygen to the brain. They put a stent in but now say she may need additional surgery. I'd like to ask for prayer for her from all of you and for her to be placed on church prayer lists. Her name is Janis Ward and she is hospitalized in Albany, GA. She does have eternal security/ salvation but is being reluctant to have additional surgery. Has right side weakness due to the stroke. I do know and have the assurance that we serve a mighty God who is the great I Am and the Great Physician! She is 70 years old. Thank you!

Thanks for the outpouring of support and prayer! It means alot to me and we serve an awesome God! We did get news of a set back yesterday as the Carataid arteries are worse than initially thought. Blockage there at 85 and 95% on each. Drs say she needs to get stronger over the next 4-6 wks before subsequent surgeries. They recommend not doing it now as they don't feel she'd fare well after what she has already been through. Please place her name on your church prayer lists as this will be a continued need. I know Almighty God hears our prayers! I thank this site and those behind it for this forum.

My prayers are also with your mother, you and your family Evans. Please just remember that the BIBLE tells us that all things are done in HIS time and for HIS glory and to HIS plan.:TU:

Kerry s. Is Jesus YOUR Lord?

    Hi Larry,

I too have never physically seen the LORD but I do know HIM..and you can too!:TU:

    John 20:29...
Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Have you ever picked up the HOLY BIBLE and read it? Start with the first four books of the New Testement, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. There you WILL find Jesus and his appointed "mission" by the Father. Here are a few key verses to get you started:

    John 3:16...
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

    John 3:17...
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

    John 3:18...
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

    John 3:19...
And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

    John 3:20...
For ever one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved (exposed).

    John 3:21...
But he that doeth truth cometh to light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Each and EVERY one of us have to search the Lord out. He is there, but forces himself on no one!

    Revelation 3:20...
Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Anyone that wishes to become closer to another has to spend time with them to build and solidify a relationship and that includes spending time with the Lord thru his word the Bible!:TU:

    Romans 10:17...
So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

    a few more...

    John 14:6...
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

    Romans 10:13...
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

And finally a verse for both Larry and Evans...

    Luke 6:21...
Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

    God Bless!:)

Thanks for the prayers guys. My mother is improving and she had further tests that have revealed that her blockages aren't as bad as expected as told previously. At this point, she isn't in need of additional surgery right now. She (and I) acknowledge that this is at the direct hand of our Great God!! I do believe God has further plans here on earth for my mother. All things work to the glory of God!! God can use anyone for His glory even at 70 years old!

Greg Schmelzer What are you looking at?!

Evans, you have prayers from Nebraska for your mother, you and the entire family.

My father had 2 heart attacks in September 2004 and had quadruple bypass in early October. For the next year and a half, he said he hadn't felt as good for the last 10 years. If only his kidneys would have held out. Diabetes have reduced them to 6% functionality and he is on dialysis 6 times daily, every 3 hours from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m.

Rest assured, Evans, your mother will feel great after all the surgery and things are plumbed properly once again.

    Greg:TU:
