That’s what I should have bought from the get go!
The pitman shaft kit was 13.99 from O Reillys, and I got the correct Edelman input shaft seal kit from Federated for 12.99
That Edelman kit from Rock Auto looks VERY complete!

Mark ! The complete set was well worth it from NAPA . I have left overs in the package at the other garage . It had EVERY seal for the box .

Them steering boxes are full of voodoo magic stuff. I'm not brave enough to take one apart

The hardest part is getting the Ricirculating balls installed on the worn shaft and in the correct order . 1 silver ball , then 1 black spacer ball .

The hard part for me was getting this big thing back into the housing with the new o-ring and seal. It's a very tight fit. I spent over an hour trying and eventually damaged the seal and had to buy another kit just to get that one new piece. Otherwise, the whole process is fairly straight forward. Another thing I learned while doing this box, if you drop the little ball bearings, they go in all directions across the garage floor and it's no fun trying to find them all. I won't make that error again. By the way, the number of balls is not the same in all boxes. My '67 only has 22 but every video I watched had more than 22.

Speaking of the black and silver balls, any idea what is different about them besides the color? I used a micrometer and both were exactly the same size in the '67 steering box.

Funny, I always thought the same thing and always just had my dad rebuild my steering boxes but I did the last one myself and it turns out they aren't complicated.

Now I want to know where I can buy the parts to change the steering ratio of my existing steering box.

    Yes they are LOLOLOL!
It’s the fluid passages and weird **** that scares me, they’re like a valve body in an automatic transmission.

I was taught the black balls were the " Spacer Balls " and were slightly smaller . by maybe a thousand or 2

Also, I would think the drag link and pitman arm should be parallel when centered?
edit - drag link = center link
    I meant idler arm!
Thanks for keeping me straight! lol

Center link and Pitman arm would be 90 Degree of each other

Agreed, it should be pitman arm and idler arm that create the parallelogram geometry. Center link should stay parallel to the imaginary line that approximates where the sway bar is mounted.
