It has TA stage 2 se heads and has never been started. Tried to find out piston brand to determine compression ratio. Cannot see anytime other than 030....assume bored 0.030
Has stock rods and arp bolts.
The half moon shaped area of the piston sits almost zero deck, 4 thou in the hole. The rest of the piston is way down, like 125 thou.
    Cast or forged?
    Any help much appreciated.

    X2, it’s cast.

I believe KB only offers pistons these days for Mopars.

I’m not an authority on piston design, but that’s a weird design, you’d think they’d keep the rest of the face of the piston the same height ( minus valve reliefs) instead of lower.

Thanks Hugger. Not a very impressive piston. Looks like 10.02 to one with 66 cc chamber heads

Well I guess that depends on what the plans are for the motor........a full out drag race application or just a good street driver

It will be going into a 60’s Ford F100 …..the style that has cab and bed combined. So these pistons will work just fine.

If your 10:1 for street driving those will be just fine......if its going live in top rpm or be sprayed i would think differently. Stk pistons were just cast too and they held up well for alot of ppl. As long as they got the proper clearances between then and the wall and proper ring setup all will work just fine for a pump gas cruiser. Be gental on the timing don't push it and let the heads do the work
