I love those but no way in Gods green earth I am paying that much to secure an 8-track Very cool find though and lots of bidding!
You guys know how bad 8 tracks were back in the day? especially when the deck eats the tape for lunch and the only way to get it back in is keep pulling on tape till it goes back in. The tape pulls from the center of the wound up tape that is on one reel and they always screwed up. The deck might be new but the tapes are now 40 years old, cassets took over 8 tracks and I was glad since I had some good music on 8 tracks and they god destroyed by the deck or the tape would not wind itself back in. I guess if you are into nostalgia go for it 400$ my bid and that is too much. lol

I have 2 used working units and wondered what they were going for and stumbled across it... Wonder if it comes with a pack of matches for when the tape starts slowing down..
I wss going to put the pioneer in my GS but, found a nice Buick 8 track to install. I dug up a bunch of my old 8 tracks from the 70s that were stored in my basement. I tried to play quite a few and almost all of them ate themselves up I guess that I could really go back to the 70's and try to piece them back together like we used to do....where's my scotch tape! My Deadly Tedly Nugent Cat Scratch fever still played ok
I lost my favorite 8-tracks in a street “battle” back in the 80’s before they were eaten so I can live with that collateral damage I was filling up my GS when this jacked all up Camaro stopped in the street, power breaking the tires. Fortunately I had prepaid and was just putting my gas tank lid on. I hopped in the GS and went sliding sideways out onto the street which was fine but when it fishtailed the other direction as it always did I found out real quick why putting the 8-tracks on top of both sun visors was NOT a good idea Kind of hard to man the steering wheel AND catch tapes flying out the windows! Fortunately the Camaro got caught at the next traffic light so I got the “win”sucking its headlights out but lost my jam. We had killer radio stations back then though in Charlotte so I was happy to wait for the next box load of tapes at the garage sales I always hit
I have become an expert on repairing old 8 track tapes for exactly those reasons, I play them in My GS all the time. It’s tedious but It’s not too difficult.
Only went for $3226 https://www.ebay.com/itm/3545907368...lYzXhu3iCaYSLlNiQmi3CGaHQ=|tkp:Bk9SR7SLj73SYQ
