I was checking out some car sites recently and came across this picture of a 71 or 72 GS that used to run at Pikes Peak .

I thought it was cool to see it used as it was probably not the idea car to use. but that is what is so great about it. I just like to see old race cars .

OK , I am kinda new at this . I used my picture from photobucket .

What I think of the car...

When I was a teenager I worked at a Car Dealership in Upstate NY that provided a GN pacecar to the local racetrack. The car would come in every so often for service and, being the new car prep boy, I would wash it and vacuum it. Car was all done up with painted on sponsorship labels. Ever since then I have liked cars like this one.
I think it looks kick a$$! Love the paint, the "455 CU IN" on the hood and the 3" pipes sticking out under the running boards!

If you must do a clone.... I would much rather do something like that (using a Skylark), than to try to make a GSX. Identify it as a "tribute" (not the original Pikes Peak Car), of course.

What an awesome second car that would make!

"Shock and Awe" is one of the greatest joys of owning a Buick. GS's are sleepers. With the paint , the pipes and those all business rims, that car screams! "A ride in this is gonna hurt!"

If anyone has more shots like this, and the REYNOLDS BUICK car, I would love to see them.

I here what you are saying about using a skylark and making a clone to race.

that photo was from in the day , so that could have been sitting in someones drive way not being used and ended up as a Pikes Peak hill climber sad I know but maybe true.

Check out that site and go to the Pikes Peak link and cry at the other Muscle cars that were used.

Sorry I thought you could link on from that site , it worked on the other forum I use.
    I must look into that.
