finally got my hands on a digital camera an wanted to upload these. I have got a 430 Buick engine to put into this car. The suspension need work along with alot of other things. What do you guys think? My goal is to be able to run this on the strip.........Crazy?
Thats an Awesome car! If you ran on the stirp that would be even more Awesome! Cool Ride. Is that a 40? A 430 engine is a powerful powerplant to drop into that bad boy!
Yep, 1940....It's pretty heavy with the body being made of much thicker steel than todays cars (probably doesn't make much of a difference) but the 430 has 360-370 Bhp and should move this guy along. At some point I would like to build it further, but much is needed to support this much power being added. The car currently had original coil springs, which are far too soft. I am considering putting in leaf springs and traction bars...but as you can probably tell, I haven't done enough research yet to really know what to do. Any suggestions as to where to look next?
Sweet car, Jimmy! That 430 Power-plant is a beefy engine, and im sure once you get enough resources and parts, you can make your car a powerful beast! Love them older buicks! Hint of advice:You can request for just about any parts in the "parts wanted" section of this board, because the folks on this board can help you find/and look for any parts you want and need, lots of help here!:TU: Welcome to the board and good luck on your quest!:beer -Cody
Thats one very sweet looking buick. It looks like the one from the Godfather, I remember a car from that movie sold on ebay for 30k.I think that one was a Caddy though.
That is a sweeeeeet car Jimmy. I have always liked 40 Buicks. Have great lines like the 40 Chev. My neighbor is just finishing up a 40 Chev for the strip. With a SBC it's scary fast and he's only run it around here. Your car will be very unique at the track. Most will wonder what kind of Chevy is that   as you kick their butts:3gears: Very very cool
KOOL Jimmy , Very Sweet Buick !:bglasses: Tint the windows , BBB in it , frame and suspension work and off we go ....:3gears: :eek2: :eek2: :TU:
Jimmy Great looking car. Love them ol' Buicks. Consider joining the BSRA Buick Street Rod Assoc. Plenty of info on old Buicks. Welcome
