    Greetings all..

Finally managed to get some pics of the Lesabre they had in the yard with the trunk trim. :Comp: Car is long gone, but at least the trimming survived. :) Since you guys/gals are the experts, I want to know if this set is salvageable or not, and if someone could give me a roundabout figure of how much they are worth.. :Do No: Trying to get a basic clutch kit for my T5 swap  :3gears:

As you can see from the pics...there is a little "pitting". Could these be rechromed??? Any info would be helpful...thanks.... I have more pics..just have to resize them if anyone needs to see them :TU:

    The LeSabre's a '71

The LeSabre is a '71 model, so the rear body molding fits '71/'72 LeSabre and Centurion. Jamyers, looks like the LeSabre was even the same color (Willowmist Green) as your car, right?

Any chance that the rear quarter extensions were also salvaged on this car? A set -- especially ones that were already drilled for the moldings -- would be worthwhile to have available.

Now, here's an interesting thing about the first photo you've show. This LeSabre appears to have the Centurion-only chrome moldings fitted to the fiberglass panel above the taillamps. It would be interesting to know the story behind this.

And here's a tidbit for Smartin. The beautiful, original Potteroff '71 Centurion convertible has lacked from day one those Centurion-specific chrome moldings pictured on this LeSabre.

Personally, I was not looking for the trimming. I have a Buick Century 2 door, so really I have no use for it. I just remember reading how much of a pain in the :moonu: they were to find. I am pretty sure I will put them in the for sale section..... :pp

    Side note....
While at an impound yard here in Atlanta, I found a red 1972 Lesabre 2 Door with a 455w/ac..white interior with the same chrome trim around the trunk. Interior needs some work..but not bad in the body department(no dents). It is for sale, but the owner believes that since it is a classic, it is worth alot of money. Pretty sure he won't turn down a reasonable offer :Brow:. Will post some pics in the next few days if anyone is interested. :beer

    Dibs?

Milt: I would like those trunk moldings. What do you want for them?

    Best regards,
    Steve.

Did anyone buy the trunk trim yet?? If not, I'll take them.

I know it's been a couple months, but I have to try. I just bought another toy to install them on:beer

    Greetings... :pp

Well I have to give the first dibs to SBRMD, he was the first to ask for them. Don't worry though, even if he gets that set, I have found another Lesabre with the trimming. I will pull those and get some pics up for you...

Is it a 2-door and does it have the power door locks? If so I'll put in a pre-dibs on them if your not keeping them.

Sorry, not a 2-door. However there is a red 2 door with those options/and a 455 in an impound yard here in Atlanta. It also has the chrome trim around the trunk and extentions. It is for sale, but I don't know how much. Need to go and check on it before he scraps it. :af: I seem to have a knack for stumbling on these things :puzzled: . Now if I can only find those large valve heads I have been searching boneyards for. I think that I am over two years and running now..... :Dou:

I had my hands on them, but due to black magic they went in the crusher.... :af: I searched for 1.5 years, and expect to search another 1.5 or more to see a set again.

quick question for you chrome trim experts...

    Greetings all...

I was in the yard today pulling the other set of chrome trim and I noticed that this Lesabre(a 4 door) had some chrome trim that ran from the back door handle,(top of them) around the top of the rear quarters, just under the lower chrome trim of the back window, and about 4-7 inches from the rear decklid, and ran around to the other door handle. Each back door also had a little piece of chrome trim about 2-3 inches that you took off from the inside of the door that was flush with the trim when you closed the door. Is this some weird option? :puzzled: Since there are two lesabres in the yard, I checked the other one and it did have the little chrome pieces on the door, but not the trim across the back. :Do No:

Hopefully someone will know what I am talking about, didn't have my camera with me, so I couldn't take pics. But if some are needed, I will try to post some. :Comp:

Does the trim look like this?

Does/did the car have a vinyl top?

Well I am going to try to "pirate" a pic and draw in what I saw

not sure if you can see it or not, but I marked the area of the chrome trim with arrows(art school here I come) :pp

    Lets see:
1970 Electra 225 convertible(top gone) 430 engine great dashpad with no cracks or tears, just a little faded.
1966?? Electra 225 4 Door still relatively complete. ac car.
1970 4 door electra. Had a really nice rebuilt 430 with center sump oil pan, but the engine is gone now. Think my buddy grabbed that one.
1974 Buick Riviera(missing heads from 455) Block is still there. has a posi tag on the rear end, but I did the quick "posi" test and it failed.
1964 Buick Lesabre? has nailhead(believe that there are two of them) One of them had a nice adjustable mirror on the dash cluster that "reflected" the speed. Turned with a small knob. Ac car too.
    1975 Buick Lesabre with a 350 engine
2 1972 Buick Lesabres(4 doors). One had the chrome trunk trim, one did not.

That is all that I can remember off the top of my head. :)
