Hopefully it will be at the BPG nats next year, and hopefully I'll be there to see it. Looks like a super cool car. Black, 455, 4 speed, poverty caps, sounds like a killer combo.
As you can tell by the pics,I was there for the FAST class. Hopefully my Stage1 will be done for next year. The Bristol Bash was a very cool event, something for everyone. I will be going back next year,if the GS is not done,I`ll just have to bring the GN
Here's a shot that I took. I spoke to the gentleman and his name is Mitch. He's a top notch bodyman from South Carolina. This might surprise you guys, but he plans on running this car in the F.A.S.T. class next year. He's got a bulletproof driveline built for it already and is a beleiver in having it run as good as it looks. My kind of guy!
Thanks for the great picture Mike, I just can't get over that car. My Blue '70 GS455 is definately going to have the poverty caps when all is said and done. Just a killer look.:bglasses:
Thanks Keith ! Great Pic's. I'm there next year without a doubt. That 70 looks so perfect, wonder if the steel rims and poverty caps are lighter than the rally wheelso No:
Mitch has been to every one of my events. Cool guy. It's tooo bad they stuck him soooooo far away in the parking arena there. They did that to the Buick's last year too. Whats up with that ???? J
Another Black Buick in F.A.S.T......We're going to have to put numbers on the doors or something to tell them apart....o No: ..... Very Cool, thats a super nice car. Is he going to run the 4-Speed?
He sure is! He told me what trans he's got in it, but I can't remember who's. I can tell you this: it sure ain't no aluminum Muncie!
A Muncie will work if its built right and you don't mind putting synchro's in it a few times a season.....:Brow:
Here's some more pics and info on the black 70 4-speed car with the poverty caps....did I mention I LOVE 4-speed big block cars?? Scroll down the page a bit..... Pics
Re: Black GS Sorry, that's the only one I took. ou: I started talking to Mitch and forgot everything else I was going to do. He's a real interesting guy. Does anyone have any contact info for Mitch? I neglected to get his card. Jimbo? o No:
I don't have a phone number for him, but I should have a mailing address. I'll check later. I'm sure he'll be at Reynolds in a couple weeks too. J
Actually Jim, it was the owner's choice as to where they wanted to park. When I registered that morning they said find a spot you like, they are not arranged by class, just open parking. I parked my car much closer to the race track (at the bottom of the hill) which was a mistake because it was on gravel and my car was filthy by the end of the day, covered in gravel dust! I think Mitch was a smarter guy and parked at the top of the hill because there is the small portion that is paved and the cars parked there were MUCH less dusty (especially important for beautiful black paint like his). The open parking did however make the voting very hard. I'd vote for a car in a certain class then walk 3 rows and have to change my vote when I found a car I liked more. Great event, anyone that can attend should try to make it next year.
Re: Re: Black GS I did get Mitch's card: M & E Auto Body Repair, 1-866-805-5583. He was a great guy to talk with.:beer
