Picked up a '73 Electra today. Keeping the motor and a few other things. But I'll pull off anything else that looks good and post a list in the parts section. The roof is toast, but it looks like a lot of the rest is usable. First had to take a pic in the trunk - I know the car is old, but...

If it wasn't for the neglect under the vinyl top, resulting in complete rustthrough all around the front and rear windows, the car would be easily savable. Took a nice rust shower everytime I hit a bump.

Hubcaps look nice.... I'll post a list in the parts section later this month. If anybody wants me to look at something in particular... just PM, or e-mail me.

I had a '73 Electra Limited 2dr with a factory electric sunroof ,that I drove daily in the mid eighties. Wish I could locate that car again. Is this one a Limited or a 225? I noticed your avatar, looks like a '72 Centurion convert. I have one identical to yours. Ted

I wonder, what all is involved in those fendertop turn signal indicators? :Do No:

If it has the original trans (73 model BC) you, may want to consider hanging on to that as it has a very good valve body in it. If not, I am sure someone here may be interested in buying the valve body.

Those are front light monitors, an option in the 72 and up cars. I actually have one 71 in the registry with them, and it is supposedly documented from the factory with them.....I can't recall which one it is, though. Possibly a very late build car..

Are those light monitors hard to wire into the existing harness? :Brow:

Ted - I think it has the Limited insignia on the sails. Yes, the avitar is my Centurion - fabulous cars they are.

James - I plan to check the rear unit. Probably slim chance, but always worth checking. Tried to check it the fun way, but the motor is in poor tune. I'm guessing that the timing is way off. The turn signals don't currently work, so I couldn't check the fendertop indicators.

Mark - Thanks for the tip. I'll check the tranny. It seemed to be in very good operating order. Didn't seem to be leakinig anywhere. Only oil leak I found was the valve covers.

If it was a '72, I might've been able to keep the fenders for spares. Didn't see any obvious issues. Looks like the doors are the same as '72.

I'll get it apart in the next couple of weeks and see what's available. Bumpers looked very good. Doesn't appear to have been in any accidents.

The lamp monitors are not electrical, they are optical. Fiber optic cable runs from the light sockets to the monitor.

Zach... what's the length on the '73? '72 shows 227.9"... 80" width. Measuring garage for workspace. Gonna be tight. And to do this in a garage in July in Houston. That'll be the fun part.

Lets see, according to my '73 dealer brochure, the 1973 Electra 225 measured 229.8" in length and 79.3" in width.

Holy Landyacht, Batman... that's nine inches longer than my Centurion. Now THAT'S a beast.
