New here, recently picked up a 1970 Riviera. She is a numbers matching 455 SF. Needs a few things, leaks a little oil out of the pan gasket it looks like. Plan on replacing along with suspension. Brakes need work thinking master cylinder. She run though, drove home from the Classic Car dealer. Car moves faster than I thought. Glad to be part of the group, lots of knowledge on here.
Drums. I looked at upgrading but there are no real kits out there. Scarebird has some stuff I guess. High profile skirts and I think they are GS Wheels.
Welcome. Beautiful car. The '70 Riv has grown on me over the years. It's one of those cars IMHO that when they're nice they look great but when they deteriorate they look bad.
Thanks, yeah I was originally wanting 65-69, but could not find any local. Found in other states but no one would respond. This popped up locally and I wound up getting a great deal on it. Plus it has the first year 455 which I liked. Everything looks good and is original...a little rust but nothing major which is surprising. I need to replace the vinyl top and fix some spots in the roof. Battery tray area has some minor surface rust as well. Didn't see or feel much more than that.
Here's some information I've posted before about the different styles for the 1970 Rivieras: Riviera I: Riviera II: Riviera III:
This is from an old book, published in 1988, so the star rating (only 2 out of 5) and the prices are not up to date. ILLUSTRATED BUICK BUYER'S GUIDE
