Close Paul, this is a view to the east at sunset from Glacier Point. El Capitan is a bit the the west on the valley but visible from here if you turn your head 120 degrees left. I highly recommend a visit to Yosemite to anyone who has not yet visited. Along with Yellowstone, the Tetons and the Grand Canyon.

Brian; Been browsing your flickr photos and the pix you posted here. Thats some serious talent. Im curious about this RAW image you were talking about, can this be done with any camera or you need a special camera for it?
Thank you. :TU: You will need a DSLR camera for it. As far as I know, regular Point and Shoot camera's don't support RAW files. Do you have a DSLR? The difference between RAW and JPEG is this: With JPEG, the camera does all of the processing for you, to give you the best out-of-the box image that it can. That includes contrast, color, sharpening, etc.. Sure, you can always go back and edit the picture afterwards, but with RAW you retain much more detail. With RAW, you do all of the processing yourself. You get a base image file to start with, then you decide what the final output will be, not the camera. You're only limited to your imagination.

Anyone else think this should be staged with the trunk open and a shovel on the ground? Scott
That makes sense. No unfortunately I just have a regular HD point and shoot for now. Eventually ill "need" to get a DSLR because i love photography. Until then ill do the best with what i got.
