Went to the car show Sunday in Sandwich IL-very nice, saw about 100 or so cars-maybe a bit less. Only a few-nice-Buicks.

My fave car there had this as part of it, can you guess what the car is from this pic? Don't know if this is factory item, but I thought it was kool.
    Picture follows
Dont sue me, I won't be back online til Tuesday night

I always think of Holman and Moody with Fords, and it looks like a T Bird sticker.

Definitely a Ford product from the 60's most likely. I doubt that's a current NASCAR emblem. That's all Holman Moody really raced.

    I'll guess a GT-40 or Cobra.

My guess would be a Thunderbolt.

Thats a Holman & Moody sticker. Those stickers were on everything from 427 Cobras to Nascar stock cars. Jennifer and I actually met Lee Holman at a Mustang event in North Carolina. Lee runs Holman & Moody these days. Both his father John and Ralph Moody have since passed away. Nicest guy in the world. Jennifer is a real Ford girl. I asked him if he would pose for a picture with her. He said " I dont know why she would want a picture with me, but OK". He was talking to us at that event like he knew us for years. Really interesting guy. He knows all the GT-40s made, down to the chassis numbers off the top of his head. Check it out www.holmanmoody.com

My guess would be a 57' T-Bird Y block car. Probably a supercharged 312. If not a dual quad version.

    So,
"SweBuick" -Hans- was close, but I believe Dean-"Racerx88" was correct with the Mercury Marauder S-55 guess. The sticker in the window said 63 1/2.

I didn't get to talk to the owner of the car though, and would've liked to get a pic from the front with the hood closed.

Sorry Dean, there is no prize. :Brow:

Also good story Jason, would've liked to have been there to meet him.

So, what is an "S-55"? I know the valve covers say "Super Marauder".

I love these cars, and this one with it's kool, kool blue paint job was my fave at the show probably. It may have been original paint too. The car was no trailer queen, which I like.
I took another pic of this year Marauder a number of years ago at night, just some random car on the streets of Chicago. It's a nice pic.

Did ya notice the LeSabre next to it in the one picture? It was also kool and unrestored, the fading paint was a kool two tone green, that was a bit darker on the trunk and the top than the sides. I would love to see that paint combo properly redone on this model. Unusual colors I bet.

    Thanks for participating!
Maybe we'll have another quiz like this in the future!

The S-55 was essentially the Marauder GS. Just a sportier version of the car with specific content, larger motor, etc.

Sure would look good in the garage next to my '04 Marauder.
