Well you might as well stop by TA. Also try the Pavillions in Scottsdale. Grab an Arizona Republic an Saturday and check out the Auto section. They list local events. I will respond with anything else I can dig up. Heck, If I can get a sitter I'll run my car at Firebird. John
ARIZONA John is right, the Pavillions on any Saturday is a good place to see some great cars. Firebird raceway is also running that night june 12. A team Firebird Bracket Race. I will be running my 64 Skylark in it That night but I am usually the only Buick there.Gates open at 6:00 but not much going on till 8:00. I hope you like it HOT, it has been close to 110 all week. Tom, I have only been to Firebird once. It was a Friday night run what you brung. Traction was at a minimum. I have been told that during the team Firebird races the track is prepped much better. What do you think? I did not see you at Speedworld in April? John
DRAGS John Yes firebird Team races have well prepped track. They get a lot of faster cars then friday night drags, so they set it up better. Usually a large car count and can be a long night, with a lot of waiting around. That April event, are you talking about the muslecar drags?? If so thats the day I had a blow out on my car trailer and took several hours to fix due to damage tire did. never did make it to event, turned around to go home to work on trailer damage. Tom .
Yes, The muslecar drags. Too bad, it was a good day. Can you get a few passes in before 8:00? On that Friday I went, my friend got there early and ran four times before I got through tech. John
drags John The sat. Team races are run different then friday. They call each bracket up for there time trials in rotation and each car gets one pass at each rotation. Usually it will be 3 passes but will take from 6:00 to 9:30 to get all the time trials in . then eliminations will get started at 10:00 or 10:30. Tom
Okay, that's how speedworld did it. I you went early, and got back quick you could get in a second pass. Thanks, My wife may have the night off. Might just have to bring the rag top out. Need to get a helmet (Firebird says mine's to old) install the air bag and tweek the shift points. It's only Tuesday. John
