TWO going on right now..parts wanted, pictures taken and sent, I get parts wrapped, boxed and weighed, get shipping quotes then sit on them forever because someone changes their mind and won't tell you,and never gets in touch.

Endless e-mails and PM's get ignored.

If you don't want the part after all, AT LEAST LET THE SELLER KNOW YOU CHANGED YOUR MIND!!!!!

    You know who you are.

Hey Tim, I have had the same trouble with some on the list. Gotten used to it, I even email them and ask out of courtesy to let me know if they no longer want the item in question (of course its already wrapped up and weighed), but still get no reply.
But 99.99% of the time, the deal goes through.
    Good luck!!

yeah, usually buick guys are the best but when they don't return e-mails or PM's it gets annoying, perhaps there are some real reasons why and thats fine but how long does it take to e-mail someone and say "I changed my mind"? its not a big deal, just let people know is all I ask.

I won't mention names unless it carries on for a while longer...

  4. Tim, has the person in question been posting on the board in the meantime? If not, it is possible they've been unavailable, or have ISP problems. Or they're maybe just irresponsible... :spank:

Might have slipped their minds also...

    I am guilty of that:error:

I know what you mean. It can get very frustrating.
I had someone from the group commit to a purchase, so I turned down other interested buyers.
He then e-mails me and says he found something cheaper, and was going to back out of the purchase. He just wanted to keep me from selling to another while he looked around, just in case he couldn't find it somewhere else.
So much for someone's word. Seems to me it's better to end up with 2, rather than ruin your reputation, but I guess some don't see it that way.
What is hard, is making sure you don't hold it against the next guy. For the most part, our group does pretty good in my opinion.
You just don't deal with that individual again.

I've had the same thing happen...have a box near the front door waiting to be shipped for so long now that it's become a shelf to set things on when we walk in the house.

A simple "I've changed my mind..." isn't too much to ask is it?

Hate to say it but Buick guys are no more honourable than a Chevy or Mopar guy. In fact there is a postive for a guy just a few threads down from this one that told me twice he wanted a tilt column I had which I boxed up and got shipping costs on but no money ever came. I have had this happen on internet deals, news paper ads you name it. How many times have you had some one phone an ad in the paper and they will be right over and never show ? I don't have alot of confidence on this particular forum..... I guess I better get a money order out myself for a hose I got the other day. Hang tight SM. Marcel.

That's really too bad that so many of you have had troubles with others on the list.

I've bought a handful of things off the list, and I always paid with paypal right away!

IMO, all of the things I bought from the list were smoking deals and I didn't want to miss out!

I got a $10 Stage 1 fuel pump with few miles, $25 used Stage 1 valves, $50 cam/lifter kit (too big but a great deal), and the 50K mile 1970 pistons from a 70 SR code motor that Jim W is doing the rest on.

...there are probably more that I can't remember off hand too.

The last thing I want to do is get a bad rap around here.

I'd hate to have the "boys" sent out:

I don't know if the moderators would allow this or not but how about this to save time:

Why don't we have a running sticky w/"bad sellers" names--you could do a quick check by clicking on this sticky(it would be the first post on the feedback section)---and check the "quicklist" for the guys name (listed alphabetically by there board name and then again by real name if avail)...then next to the guys name would be a link to the actual thread that complained of a problem----that way the explanation, or story would be there for those that wanted to read all the circumstances surrounding the bad experience.

The post could be titled "The Hall of Shame" or something like that.

Just an idea for time saving research. Patton

    Tim-I feel your pain!

    Tim,
I was just getting ready to post the same topic myself!
I too am getting tired of e-mailing someone 5 or 6 pics(which takes me awhile to send by the way)and never hearing a thing back.No thank you,go to h***,or just a simple I'm not interested.
Several times i to have boxed up a part, money is supposedly on the way, took the part into the house only to have it sit for weeks waiting for the money only to never see it.
What's even worse is enduring the wife's wrath:spank: while the boxed up part is sitting in the living room waiting to be shipped!Ya know a bumper, inner fender or seat takes up some room:eek2:
    Yeah it is rather frustrating:af:
Kinda glad i'm not alone out there though, thought i was the only one:shock:
