So whats the difference between the Edelbrock performer and the B4B. They both have the same advertised power range of idle to 5500 RPM? I looked them up in summit and one was about $30 more, but their description doesn't answer the question. :Do No:

The performer will allow you to still use the air cleaner and keep it functional (lines up with the holes in the hood). No real performance gain over a stock intake, but a tremendous weight savings (roughly 50lbs off the nose of the car). The B4B is a better design, fuel is distributed a little more evenly because the carb is placed in the center of the manifold rather than towards the rear of the manifold. Either way, both intakes can be played with to gain significant advantages over a stock manifold, it would just depend whether you want to keep your car as close to stock appearing as you can, or gaining performance. If you are not plannning on using it in a car with the dual snorkel air cleaner, then go with the B4B, JMHO :TU:

You could gain a little more by stagger jetting the primary side of the carb,on the driver side,by 2 sizes.Either manifold benifits due to the long runner going to the front cylinders on the driver side.

Also with the performer intake you can pop in a stock HEI unit and clear all the stock air cleaner hardware.

    Gary-
Up or down on the driver's side?
Remembered reading about the stagger jetting in the old K/B articals but didn't know how much and what side.
Was looking for that info here a while ago and no one seemed to know anything about it...

    Thanks!!!

Jet the driver side primary up 2 sizes,ex.if your 72's in both sides now,go to 74 in the driver side and leave the passenger side 72,same metering rods if using Q jet.

I would say the difference in weight between the stock and aluminum manifolds is more like 30 pounds. I don't think stock weighs more than 40-45 pounds.
