Re: I hate it more when...

Umm, losing the left front wheel at 9th and Jeffers moments after doing 90 mph on the way into town was NOT fun!!!!!

NOTE: At least it happened when it did. :)pray: THANK GOD!!!) Thirty seconds later I would've been doing 90 on the return trip home.

Depends on the year...I believe for a different year one of the 4s stood for 400 cubic inches

I have had people tell me that "442" stands for the engine cubic inch:error:

Originally, the 442 was option B09 "police apprehender package". In 64 it was available on a 4 door

    swing72 just me

4 barrel 4 on the floor dual exhaust.
a few years rolled by and the original 442 didnt stand anymore because they got rid of either the 4 barrel or the 4 on the floor and some people decided it was for 400 ci, but originally.....

the original 442 created in 1964 only had a 330 cubic inch engine. the original meaning of 442 was 4 barrel carb, 4 speed tranny and duel exhaust. Starting in 1965 the 330 was no longer used but instead a 400 cubic inch engine so to promote this new monster motor one of the 4's stood for 400 as in engine size. of course by now other options became available such as automatic tranny so the name 442 was just a designation that stuck from the original car. also in 1970 the 455 was standard and in 71 and 72 the 350 was optional. but in no way did 442 represent a442 displacement engine, no such thing but we olds guys are smart enough to know that.

    I have a new one!

Im driving the 70 last Sunday morning to the Buick/ Pontiac show. Im waiting at the light and there's a guy on a full dress Harley. He sees the 70 and says "Nice car! what year is that?" I say "thanks! its a 70" Then he says "Does that have the 351 Cleveland in it?" what??? I kid you not. Did he actually confused my car with a Ford?? I tell him its a Buick and it has a 455 in it. He just says "oh" and drives off....sigh

This one happened about a month ago. We take Jennifer's BRAND NEW 07 Mustang GT to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner. The car is literally a week old. I think it had 150 miles on it. We park waaaaaay in the back of the lot away from everyone. We come out after dinner and there's some jackass parked right next to the Mustang changing a tire no less. And the tire was on the same side as the Stang. And to top it off, his kids are running around playing with sticks. No other cars around. Just this dipsh*t, his family and Jen's Mustang. The parkling lot was still 3/4 empty. Dude....you had to park RIGHT next to the car? WTF is the matter with people?

Jason you obviously have much better control of you anger than I do . When I bought my Cadillac new , 3 days old , had to go to V.A. for appointment . Parked well away from any other cars . As My wife and I came out I could see a car parked REAL close to mine . As we got closer I told her that car is touching mine and sure enough when we got my car the other car a total POS was sunk into my front bumper . I totally lost it as I stomped across his trunk . They even left the keys in it . Had it not been for the Security Police attempting to calm me down , not sure how far I would have taken my anger .

One of the first vehicles I ever really fixed up was a 54 chevy 1/2 ton, it had a factory automatic the first year you could get it in a truck.

To this day whenever I talk about it I am amazed on how many times I get called a liar... There is no way you could have a auto in a 54!! yeah bite me buddy.

I was told there was a 10 sec jetta here that can beat my car.... Its ran a cool 10.92 at 148, but usually runs 11.2s to 11.5s... I'll admit its a nice car when it see it burn those rear tires off . :TU: :Dou:
