I am running an AC PCV valve in my 71 455. My machinist who built engine checked valve and he said it flowed to much air and said it could cause engine problems. Anybody heard of this before? What valves does anyone use tthat are more restrictive. I would like to keep the stock configuration.

that is a new one to me? i used an chevy lt1 valve on a modified engine before. besides, how about crankcase evacuation set ups and vacuum pumps? they help promote ring sealing at higher rpm's. i know more than likely your's isn't a high rpm engine. i also know someone that was running a 406 sbc that used just 2 breathers and then just switched to a pcv valve at the track and picked up a tenth, put back in the breathers and it slowed down a tenth. who is you machinist?
