Im trying to find out what is the weight of the body parts on the 1986 Buick Regal. I need to get it down to 3000 pounds or less.

    Race weight:

Cut out the door side impact beams
Ditch the bumper shocks front and rear
    Plastic headlights, non-sealed beam
Look for an aluminum radiator core
GN's and some Regals have an aluminum bumper brace instead of steel or fiberglass bumpers...

Then would be the hood, trunk lid and doors last...

Sorry, I don't have the breakdown on weights.

Why, is it a race car?

Yes it is a race car and it currently tips the scales at 3770 with the driver in it.

Damn, you Regal is a pig weight wise. My 84 Regal race car weighed 3105 last time I weighed it with an aluminum headed BBB and 3305 with driver. I don't know the before weight of parts but the following is how I got mine down to the present weight.
    1. Fiberglass front bumper with aluminum bumper supports.
    2. Aluminum Griffin radiator.
    3. Vega manual steering box (weighs half of what a S-10 box weighs).
    4. Side impact bars removed from doors (saved 14 lbs each door)
    5. Manual windows
    6. One racing bucket seat and rear seat removed with aluminum panel in the vertical place of the seat.
    7.Four aluminum wheels.
    8. Aluminum radiator core support (car had steel core support when last weighed). The aluminum core (at least the one I have) weighs 10 lbs less then the orginal steel one. You could probably hole saw your steel one and get almost 10 lbs off it.
    9. A/C and heater box removed with aluminum panel in its place.
    10. Plastic 8 gallon fuel cell.
    11. Rear bumper supports gutted and tack welded in place. Rear bumper inside impact cut away so the only part left is the ends where it bolts to the supports.
My car still has the headlinner and all the door panels, factory dash, and a 6 point roll bar. I also have a "G" force transmission cross member which weighs more then the orginal one. I am getting ready to add a fiberglass cowl hood (I have a steel one), light weight Wilwood front brakes, and with the aluminum radiator core support I expect to loose 100-110 lbs off the frontend of the car.
